The official description asks whether you can survive the bosses. It does not name them, list phases, or publish rewards. Do not treat a boss chart from another Verity game as this roster. When a fight is clearly heavier than a normal wave, scout it.
Scout the first meeting
Stay alive long enough to answer five questions. Write the answers in chat if you are in a group.
- Does the boss pause, glow, or change animation before a big hit?
- Does it pressure the nearest wall, the densest cluster of damage pieces, or a player?
- Can it skip the lane, jump, or open a new angle?
- Do extra monsters arrive, and do they use a different gap?
- Does the behavior change after the boss has taken a lot of damage?
Survive first. Rebuild second. Spending the whole reserve on decoration between attempts does not answer those questions.
Keep the boss in the covered lane
Focus means the boss spends time where more than one of your pieces can hit it. It does not mean ignoring a side gap that walks into the core.
- Hold the boss in the entrance you already covered.
- If it leaves that entrance, close the new angle before you chase.
- Give one person, or your own priority, the side monsters.
- Do not move every upgrade onto one piece if that leaves the lane blind.
There is no published best weapon. Use the damage pieces that already cover the lane, then add overlap. See Build a base.
Fallback before the core is exposed
Assume the outer line can fail.
- Keep an inner line that still has coverage if the outer line breaks.
- Agree on a call, such as fall back, so friends stop rebuilding the outer garden.
- Repair the outer line only when the inner line is stable.
- After the fight, restore the inner line, then the outer lane, then any extra wing.
That same inner line is what offline defense has if a hard fight continues after you leave. Details are in Offline defense.
If the base is wrecked
Autosave means you still have a damaged base, not a blank plot, unless you delete it.
- Close any open path into the core.
- Restore coverage on one lane.
- Delete unfinished pieces that create odd paths.
- Simplify a maze that already failed.
- Rematch only after the scout notes change the layout.
Solo and co-op
Solo, keep the footprint small enough to watch the tell and reach a repair. A single fragile piece is a bad boss plan because you cannot replace it mid-fight.
In a group, one caller owns hold, repair, and fall back. The person placing new wings pauses until the fight ends. Role splits are in Co-op.
If a patch later names a boss or changes a tell, check How to read updates before you memorize a pattern from an old session.
